Olivier Volpi is a French screenwriter who works on both French and English screenplays. After graduating from business school, Olivier Volpi worked at Ciby 2000 (known for producing The Piano and Lynch’s Lost Highway to name a few) in the marketing and promotion of films such as Underground (Palme d’Or in Cannes) and Secrets & Lies (Palme d’Or in Cannes). He then became the assistant to the world famous “King of Cannes“ Pierre Rissient and moved to Los Angeles for a year.
After returning to Paris, he became a reader for several TV networks and producers before working as a script doctor and eventually starting his screenwriting career.
He wrote Walled In (a thriller directed by award winner Gilles Paquet-Brenner and starring Mischa Barton), Stalingrad Lovers (Acid Selection at the Cannes Film Festival), La Société (winner of the contest “It happened tomorrow“), and Alphonse Funèbre (for the Sable Noir – “Black Sand“ – famous thriller series). He is the author of Dear Neighbors, a best-selling book (150,000+ sold copies and over 250,000 subscribers on Tumblr).
Olivier also directed several short films, including Matéo Falcone, which was selected in over 40 festivals, including the Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival (Special Jury Mention), the Festival Der Nationen (Special Jury Award) and the Sarlat Film Festival (2nd prize).
His current projects include feature films and series developed for top French production companies (such as UGC, Radar Films, and Récifilms) and he recently won, for the third time, the CNC (National Center for Cinema) Support Fund for Audiovisual Innovation.
Olivier brings his very unique and original tone to every screenplay and that makes it immediately stand out.
